Just a few weeks left before Halloween and I bet loads of you are planning to go for a crazy party, so I was thinking why not give you some Halloween makeup ideas??
The Halloween makeup, although is a bit more complex, it has to follow a few general lines, if you want the final result to be as expected. Throughout the next lines, there are a few tips if you want to make your own Halloween makeup:
Keep the accent on the eyes
Halloween makeup is most of the times focused on the eyes, mainly because the look can radically change the makeup . And when I talk about deep and contoured eyes I am thinking about the one and only Cleopatra, which is the top 1 choice for most women on Halloween.
To get such a makeup, you need to start with the basics: remove all your makeup, deep cleanse your face and apply a quick absorption moisturizer ( don't use a greasy one). Start by applying foundation all over the face, including the eyes. I would advise using a sponge or foundation brush. After a few minutes apply matte powder on your eyes and then apply a matte dark grey or green eyeshadow.
By using a thick wet brush, you can now apply a glittery eyeshadow, silver or gold. Cleopatra was well know by having defined eyebrows, so you will need a black or brown eyebrow pencil.
At the end you can apply liquid eyeliner and mascara, or you can use false eyelashes.
Seductive lips
A lot of you are probably already have in mind Angelina Jolie with her gorgeous lips, but I was thinking about the 50's symbol, with charisma and a brilliant shine and that is Marilyn Monroe.
As soon as I say Marilyn Monroe, the first things that come to my mind are her white pleated dress and hot red lips. In the 50's makeup was bold and red was the color preferred for the lips.
Before applying the lipstick, to add volume to the lips just like Marilyn, apply a white lip contour pencil on your upper lip, then apply a thin layer of powder on your lips to prevent the lipstick wearing off. Then use a red lip contour pencil for your lips and at the ends of your lips apply a dark red lipstick, and for the center use a lighter shade of red, it will give the impression of volume. Lastly apply a lip gloss.
Modern vampire
Lately, everyone, including the fashion industry manifest a strange attraction to Gothic, vampire world. Thanks to the 'Twilight' movie, a whole new world of makeup was born dark makeup palettes and so many articles to help remake the movie makeups.
I won't be giving you a lecture on how to recreate Bella's makeup or what makeup Robert Pattinson used in the X scene, I am just going to give you a few ideas on how to get the vampire look.
So first of all, you need to get your skin ready. As we all know vampires are known for having a really pale skin, as if the sun never touched them. Before applying any light foundation and powder you need to hydrate your skin to prevent the skin from drying. You could even use a white baby powder, but be careful use only as much as you need, otherwise you'll end up looking like a painted wall.
As for the eyes a lot of people prefer the 'smokey eye' makeup. I would recommend to stay away from smokey eye and try irregular lines with a liquid dark eyeshadow. For the contour use a black pencil or black liquid eyeliner.
For the lips, you can opt for a hot red lipstick, or even coral, ruby red or black. You can even combine a few shades to get an interesting color.
This is how I've done mine:
